In the manufacture of wooden drumsticks from hardwood, chatoyance is a critical factor. Because chatoyance reduces the strength of the wood it produces an inferior drumstick which breaks easily. I'm interested in any, and all, information regarding successful implementation of automated chatoyance detection which is integrated in the sawmill.
