I cover the Northern Territory (primarily Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan), but I'd be excited to talk to people from other areas, too. I can also share the latest from HMR. Such as, in this week's edition, we talk about the annual rate of Eastern US hardwood production remaining historically low. August marked the third consecutive month with the annual rate of production sitting below 5 billion board feet (BBF). Breaking down August production by area, the Appalachian region posted a 9.6% increase over July. Hardwood output in the South dropped 17.3% as more mills processed pine rather than hardwoods. And despite mill closures in the North Country, production rose 5.2% in August over July.
